Gunther has been a trusted and loyal member of the LIFGA board of directors, and he’s attended almost every board meeting in the last 30 years.

“Bob Gunther’s dedication to the LIFGA is unparalleled by anyone else in this organization,” says Mike Pazienza, LIFGA president.

More than 70 people attended the meeting, which began with a Kurt Van de Wetering-led tour of the new range of high tunnels.

Following the tours, a buffet dinner was held in the head house of Ivy Acres. At the end of dinner a brief business meeting of the LIFGA was held where Mark Bridgen, chair of the scholarship committee, announced that LIFGA had finally achieved its goal of raising $25,000 for the LIFGA Scholarship, which is managed by the American Floral Endowment. This means the first LIFGA Scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded later this year.
