New Monrovia Introductions

Monrovia has announced a new plant collection for early summer 2009, stemming from its recent partnership with renowned plant explorer, Dan Hinkley.

The collection, beginning with seven exclusive and semi-exclusive varieties, features a frost-hardy abutilon, four stunning fuchsias, a winter-hardy disporopsis and a red-leafed mukdenia.

Dan Hinkley is well known throughout the horticulture industry for his ability to identify plants that perform admirably in climates across North America. He travels the world seeking unusual and exotic plants and then trials them as a hands-on gardener to evaluate their performance. He also likes to ensure the introductions do not possess the potential for bio-invasiveness.
