Dümmen outdid themselves this year with new introductions. New varieties of geranium, New Guineas, petunias and, of course, new combination plantings were all showcased at their Spring Trials display. Pictured here is a new Confetti Garden Mix called Beyond the Sea.
Calibrachoa ‘Hula Cherry’
One of eight colors in the new Hula series, ‘Hula Cherry’ sports the dark centers common to all members of the series.
Verbena ‘Wicked Hot Pink’
The new Verbena Wicked series adds lots of possibilities to container combinations. The bicolor coloring common to all members of the series makes it easier to match with other colors and adds punch to a mix. This one is ‘Wicked Hot Pink’
Solenostemon (Coleus) ‘Main Street Wall Street’
Dümmen is offering coleus for the first time, under the collection name Main Street. ‘Wall Street’ is an attractive copper-foliaged cultivar with deep bronze veination.
Geranium ‘Sarita Sunstar Red’
Geranium ‘Sarita Sunstar Red’ is an attention-getting bicolor. ‘Sarita Pink’ also is joining the Sarita series.
‘Petticoat Blue Star’ New Guinea Impatiens
While it doesn’t really look blue, this flower is gorgeous. Another new member of the New Guinea Petticoat series is ‘Orange Star.’
Begonia ‘Unstoppable Upright Big Fire’
This new series of begonias, with only two colors so far, grabbed attention with its dark maroon, narrow, sharply serrated foliage that provides excellent contrast for the flowers.
Petunia ‘Sweetunia Johnny Flame’
This one is one of Greenhouse Grower Editor Robin Siktberg’s absolute favorites. An unusual flower pattern makes this subtle bicolor a wonderful and eye-catching addition to a container.
Petunia ‘Peppy Cerise’
It’s sometimes hard to stand out in the petunia world, but ‘Peppy Cerise’ does just that. It is the newest addition to the very vigorous Peppy series.
