Park Hill Plants Joins HGTV HOME Plant Collection Growing Team For 2014

The HGTV HOME Plant Collection has formed a partnership with grower Park Hill Plants of Oklahoma for 2014, according to Randy Hunter, managing partner of the Agricola Management Group, exclusive licensee for the Plant Collection.

Located in Tahlequah, Okla., Park Hill Plants will provide annuals, perennials and shrubs for the 2014 Expressions Annuals Collection, the new Essential Perennials Collection and the Smart and Stylish Shrubs line. HGTV worked in conjunction with Agricola Management Group to develop its various Plant Collections.

“We are partnering with Park Hill Plants based on its ability to deliver high quality products and provide excellent service to its markets,” says Hunter. “Park Hill joins our exceptional team of more than 30 U.S. regional growers for 2014. Agricola continues to seek high-quality growers to partner with us in this exciting growth opportunity.”

Park Hill joins other established HGTV HOME Plant Collection professionals as a strategic growing partner. “Park Hill Plants is proud to become an important growing partner for annuals, perennials and shrubs for this superior quality and successful Plant Collection,” says Brett Jones, COO of Park Hill Plants. “The Collection’s continued growth represents important opportunities for growers like us, as well as retailers and consumers in 2014.”

Park Hill Plants is a minority-owned and Tero-certified company founded in 2010. Its senior leadership team has more than 100 years of combined experience in the nursery business.

The HGTV HOME Plant Collection has been available in more than 950 retailers in the U.S. and Canada this spring and summer, with continued expansion of growers, retailers and plant varieties anticipated for the coming months.

In anticipation of 2014, Agricola Management and the HGTV HOME Plant Collection have expanded the Expressions Annual Collection from six to 10 collections, now including the new Autumn Expressions Annuals for fall 2013. All Expressions Annuals are offered in pre-selected color mixes available in true one-gallon containers, hanging baskets or decorative containers. Individual components are sold in a single quart size.

Through pre-selection, Agricola and HGTV have taken the guesswork out of container gardening, allowing consumers to ‘color coordinate and go’ to create a polished look at home within minutes.

It’s Time To Rethink The Value And Timing Of Cali…

Fourteen years ago, Greenhouse Grower saw an opportunity to bring next-day coverage of California Pack Trials (now California Spring Trials or CAST) to your inbox. The objective was to be your eyes and ears on location, to report the debut of the newest varieties and marketing programs, and report major breeder announcements, especially for those not attending. We continued to develop new story-telling tools with video capabilities, slideshows, and more. And once social media took hold, everyone attending CAST became reporters of their favorite varieties and displays at trials. So we’re left with the question — how should we continue to evolve our coverage, to bring the most value for you? It’s easy to fall into a certain pattern, to stick with what works — or seems to work. And just because you’re working really hard at something that you’ve had success with in the past, it doesn’t mean it’s […]
