Ball FloraPlant
‘Pink Lemonade’ is a new addition to the Suncatcher series. This large-flowered, trailing petunia has a two-tone appearance and is designed for early flowering and low energy inputs. ‘Pink Lemonade’ will grow between 8 and 12 inches tall and wide.

Dömmen
The introduction of ‘Black Jack’ was a nice surprise addition to the Sweetunia series, putting another black petunia on the market to compete with Ball’s 2010 Medal Of Excellence winner, ‘Black Velvet.’ Bordeaux and Mystic, which has a dark aubergine center, are two other dark-colored Sweetunia companions. Mixed with a euphorbia, these make a classy Confetti Garden combination called Bordeaux Black Tie.

Ecke Ranch
Three new Littletunias and four new Rays are among the petunias available from Ecke Ranch for next spring. Bred by Danziger, Blue Vein, Merlot and Red join the miniature petunia series. Danziger also bred the large-flowered Pink, Purple, Red and White in the Ray series.

Fides
The Fortunia series is expanding with the additions of ‘Purple Heart’ and ‘Silver Vein,’ a particularly unique variety for the series with its off-white color and a bold purple vein pattern that will drawn in consumers.

Green Fuse Botanicals
Good and Plenty is an all-new Green Fuse series of petunias with a mounding habit and slight trailing form. Blue, Purple, Red, Rose, White and Yellow are among the first introductions, which are ideal for pots or hanging baskets. ‘Midnight Velvet,’ an exceptionally rich purple, is a striking newcomer in Green Fuse’s existing Blanket series.

Hem Genetics
Among the five petunia series available from Hem Genetics is Limbo, a dwarf line that welcomes two newcomers for 2012 in Salmon Morn and Pink Morn. Limbo develops into a mound shape, and one advantage of it is its ability to recover from rain damage throughout the year. One variety in the series, Violet, has already received a Fleuroselect quality award.

Hort Couture
The brand designed exclusively for independent garden centers continues to expand in a variety of areas, including in petunias. Hort Couture’s Panache petunias grow by three varieties this year with ‘Pink Provocateur,’ ‘French Manicure’ and ‘Hells Bells,’ a florescent orange-red variety with a purple throat. Westhoff is the series breeder.

PanAmerican Seed
‘Coral Crush’ and Red are the newest additions to PanAmerican Seed’s Shock Wave series, the earliest Wave family member to flower. Shock Wave delivers a quick fill in baskets and rebounds well for a spreading petunia. Also new in Shock Wave is the Volt mix.

Proven Winners
‘White Russian’ is the exciting 2012 Supertunia introduction from Proven Winners. ‘White Russian’ has an antique white petal with dark chocolate veins, and it’s accented by a dark eye. This is a mounding, trailing petunia that spreads as far as 24 inches.

Sakata
Pink Ice, the eighth variety in its series, is the lone newcomer to Sakata’s SuperCal petchoas that combine the traits of petunias and calibrachoas. The SuperCal’s foliage is not sticky like some petunias can be, so it offers a clean look throughout summer.

Suntory Flowers
The trailing Surfinia series grows by one variety for 2012 with Deep Red, a stronger version of Red.

Syngenta Flowers
Purple and Violet join the six-variety Picnic series that features a continuous supply of 1-inch blooms. Purple and Violet both grow up to 12 inches tall and 22 inches wide.

Kathy – Green Fuse. 'Midnight Velvet' is pretty stunning. I wrote about this series after seeing Blanket at last year's Spring Trials: http://www.greenhousegrower.com/article/8562/green-fuse-becoming-a-one-stop-shop
