Salvia Heatwave Series From Pacific Plug And Liner

Salvia Heatwave Series From Pacific Plug And Liner

The Heatwave salvia series can take the heat and the drought and will keep on blooming. Developed in Australia, Heatwave was bred to withstand extreme conditions and is ideal for perennial borders or as a foundation plant in a low maintenance landscape. Heatwave is most notable for its tight, upright habit that will not spread as the plant matures. Continual blooms from spring through fall will draw hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden, and will also be attractive to gardeners looking for continual, easy color in their landscape.

Salvia Heatwave is hardy in Zones 6 to 9, and will reach a height of 30 inches with a width of 36 inches. It is available in five colors: ‘Sparkle’ (pink), ‘Blaze’ (red), ‘Blast’ (salmon), ‘Glitter’ (purple) and ‘Glimmer’ (white). This variety prefers well-drained soil and moderate growing temperatures of 55°F to 75°F. Pinching is needed to shape the plant but no PGR is required. A liner will fill a 1-gallon container in 12 to 15 weeks.
