Sunset magazine, publisher of the Sunset Western Garden Book, has licensed Plant Development Services to introduce and market the plant collection, which will hit retail shelves beginning in April 2012 in California. Distribution will expand to the 13 Western States in the Sunset magazine reading area in the coming years.

“Gardening continues to be a core interest of our readers, and it is exciting to be able to introduce our favorite plants directly to them in a launch that coincides with this spring’s publication of The New Sunset Western Garden Book and the relaunch of our popular online Plant Finder database that includes the introduction of a companion mobile app,” says says Barb Newton, president of Sunset Publishing.

The introducers of the number one multi-season blooming azalea brand in the world, Encore Azalea, and the hugely successful Southern Living Plant Collection, Plant Development Services works with the world’s top growers and breeders to bring high impact plants to market.
