Suntory Makes Spirits Bright With Princettia Displays

Euphorbia 'Princettia Pink' (Suntory Flowers)Suntory Flowers’ parent company, Suntory Holdings, is famous for whiskey and recently purchased Jim Beam to create Beam Suntory. Having a consumer-facing partner in the U.S presents unique marketing opportunities for Suntory Flowers to promote its brands. To do this, the company collaborated on a holiday interiorscape featuring Princettia at Beam Suntory’s offices in Deerfield, Ill., near Chicago.

Princettia plants were grown by Plantpeddler in Cresco, Iowa, which is helping with the relaunch of Princettia in the U.S. market. In addition to this interiorscaping project, Plantpeddler executed a grower sampling program – 100 rooted cuttings for 100 growers spanning four key Princettia varieties – Dark Pink, Hot Pink, Pink and Max White. The Suntory Flowers team got to see results at retail while visiting garden centers in the Twin Cities.

For the Beam installation, Suntory Flowers’ Delilah Onofrey says the Suntory team enjoyed working with the Mimosa Interior Landscape crew, who serves the Chicago metropolitan market and normally takes care of the plants in the atrium lobby.

“Owner Paul Zaccarine’s response to the plants really opened my eyes to the potential for Princettia in the interiorscape market,” Onofrey says. “He had never cared for pink poinsettias before but really liked these colors and the floral coverage. He noted how white Max White truly is and liked the designer color of the lighter Pink.”
