Heuchera ‘Lemon Supreme’ was bred for sun tolerance and grows well in full sun where other yellow foliage tends to burn out and fizzle. Testing and trials by the breeding team indicate the new variety is sun tolerant but also performs nicely in shade, with exposure being part shade to full shade.

‘Lemon Supreme’ has clean, round leaves that turn to lime in summer. It forms a rounded habit and boasts sporadic white flowers. This new variety provides many landscape applications such as being used as a contrast or an accent plant and in mass plantings, borders, mixed beds, and containers. Special uses allow it to be a virtuous garden addition in the Deep South or where low-water usage is present. It supplies bright-winter color and is a hummingbird and pollinator attractor.

USDA Hardiness Zones for Heuchera ‘Lemon Supreme’ are 4 to 9, with a long bloom time of June through September. The variety’s mature height is 8 inches with a width of 18 inches and flower height of 14 inches. It has a fast finish time of four to six weeks.

New Echinacea ‘Kismet White’

Terra Nova’s new Echinacea ‘Kismet White’ variety is the fifth introduction to the Kismet series, following ‘Kismet Orange,’ ‘Kismet Raspberry,’ ‘Kismet Red,’ and ‘Kismet Yellow.’

‘Kismet White’ was bred with the same traits for which its predecessors have become known. It has a compact, upright habit. Its key characteristics and numerous, large and long-lasting flowers with a long bloom time make it a nice option in gallons, gardens, beds, borders, containers, and other uses.

‘Kismet White’ offers special uses to include deer resistance or as a cut flower, and pollinator and hummingbird attractor. It has been bred for applications in the deep South or areas where low-water usage is present.

USDA Hardiness Zones for ‘Kismet White’ are 4 to 9, and exposure is full sun. The variety’s mature height is 15 inches with a width of 18 inches and flower height of 18 inches. Bloom time extends from June through October.

Terra Nova Nurseries has created a Plant Profile page and Grower Recipe specific to these new varieties so growers interested in possible orders can learn about growing habits, plant characteristics, fertilization recommendations, water requirements, and other insights provided by the breeding team. The documents can be viewed and downloaded for printing at Terranovanurseries.com.
