Tomorrow, North Carolina State University will host its poinsettia open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the horticulture field lab next to the J.C. Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh. On Sunday, the trials will be held at the Ruby C. McSwain Center and the normal greenhouse location.

The event is free and no registration is required. Growers are welcome to visit either day and Sunday will be open to the public. This year’s trials feature more than 100 new and experimental cultivars, which are listed at www.floricultureinfo.com.

For a retail trial using the same cultivars, be sure to check out Homewood Nursery & Garden Center’s Poinsettia Open House in Raleigh tomorrow.

Just this past Sunday, Mitchell’s Nursery & Greenhouse in King, N.C., held a poinsettia open house displaying 57 varieties.
