The International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society (IWGS) has announced the winners of its 13th annual waterlily competition.

–Best New Waterlily: Nymphaea ‘Wanvisa’ by N. Nopchai Chansilpa
–Second Best New Waterlily: Nymphaea ‘Bimini Twist’ by Florida Aquatic Nurseries

–Best New Hardy Waterlily: Nymphaea ‘Wanvisa’ by Chansilpa
–Second Best New Hardy Waterlily: Nymphaea ‘Pink Dawn’ by Dustin Machinsky

Waterlily hybrids were grown at the Sarah P. Duke Botanical Gardens in Durham, N.C., under the supervision of horticulturist Tamara Kilbane. Entries from around the world were judged in early September by an international panel of 12 aquatic plant experts representing four countries.
