The foliage is finely divided and is said to resemble a dragon's claw, hence the name. The growth habit is like a smaller form of'Crimson Queen’; a compact, cascading mound. The young leaves are a bright scarlet in spring, becoming dark burgundy as they develop, and finally turning bright red in autumn.'Red Dragon'is more sun tolerant than other dissectum cultivars but dappled shade is preferred. Should be used as a specimen or focal point in the landscape. They are special plants for special places. "Cascading" Full Sun to Part Shade
