This interesting tree has dense, redbud-like foliage. Pyramidal as a young tree, it becomes broader with age. Although variable, fall color is attractive - shades of yellow to apricot but primarily yellow in the Midwest. It requires ample moisture during the establishment period. 2006 Plants of Merit. Foliage: Reddish-purple becoming bluish-green.
