This male selection from Wilbert Ronald at Jeffries Nursery in Manitoba, Canada, was selected for its superior winter hardiness, and its resistance to frost cracking and winter injury. It is upright in form, especially as a young tree, with purple autumn color. Rarely or never fed on by Japanese beetles.
