Picturesque tree has deeply furrowed bark and stout branches that are particularly handsome in winter. Foliage is bluish-green. Prefers deep, moist soil and full sun, but is adaptable to many conditions such as alkaline soil, salt, and drought. Mahogany seed pods are long and leathery.
