Maackia amurensis 'Summertime' (Amur Maackia)
Excellent small tree with multi-season interest. It grows as a low branching, single-trunked tree with mottled olive green to golden brown bark which lends interest to the winter landscape. In spring, compound leaves emerge with a distinctive silvery appearance maturing to a rich deep green. Summertime blooms in mid to late summer with numerous bottlebrush-like racemes of small cream flowers. Small, papery seedpods then develop and turn brown in autumn. University of MN introduction from Dr. Harold Pellett.
