Native to the forests of Sweden, this slender tree is great for smaller spaces, screens and along drives. May be a good substitute for Lombardy as it is more resistant to cankers than other columnar poplars. Dark green leaves have a lighter silvery-green underside providing both visual interest and soothing sound in a breeze. Prefers a rich, well-drained, moist soil but will tolerate heavy soils if not too poorly drained.
