Prunus sargentii (Sargent Cherry)
(Sargent Cherry)
Share:

One of the hardiest oriental cherry trees. Sargent blooms early in spring, before the leaves emerge, with pretty pink flowers. The black berries which ripen in June or July are almost hidden by the foliage. The shiny, dark green foliage turns a brilliant scarlet in fall. The bark is very ornamental, a rich red to brown color. A beautiful cherry for all seasons.
