Quercus 'Green Pillar' (Pin Oak)
Also known as Emerald Pillar. We think this unique fastigiata form will prove to be quite popular in the landscape as it becomes more widely available. Narrowly columnar with dense, upright branching and a strong central leader. Glossy, deep green foliage up to 7" long turns dark red to bronze in autumn; a brilliant scarlet in cooler areas. Adaptable to a wide range of site conditions but will suffer chlorosis in high pH. 2006 Gold Medal Plant® Award winner.
