Rudbeckia 'Autumn Sun' (Black-eyed Susan, Cone Flower)
A relatively unknown species of coneflower that deserves more attention in the perennial border. Blooms mid to late summer with bright yellow daisy-like flower petals that droop from a large green cone atop tall spikes of foliage which need no staking. It gets tall, so place this cultivar at the back of the perennial border in full sun and moist, well-drained soils. Excellent winter interest.
