Syringa 'Ivory' (Reblooming Lilac)
This relative of the Japanese Tree Lilac is grown either as a single stem or large multiple stemmed shrub. Pekin has smaller leaves and finer textured stems than the Japanese Tree Lilac. It blooms in June with fragrant, small, creamy white to pale yellow flowers that really stand out next to the dark green foliage. The bark is shiny, coppery colored and exfoliating with prominent lenticels, similar to a cherry tree. Moderate growth rate.
