An attractive ornamental grass valued for its interesting form, with bold bamboo-like horizontal leaf blades, nice clumping habit 2-3' tall, and purplish fall color. It is a warm season grass, growing best in moist, well-drained, fertile soil in full sun. It resents hot, dry sites. Purplish flower panicles bloom in mid to late summer, rising 14-18" above the foliage. Clump forming.
