Panicum 'Haense Herms' (Switchgrass, Common Millet, Cutthroat Grass)
Shorter and more upright form of the native species. Will reach up to 5' when in bloom. Slight blue cast to foliage. The fine textured, airy flower heads are produced in late summer and turn a warm, glowing wheat color in winter. Foliage turns red in late summer changing to burgundy by autumn. Should be cut back in early spring. Clump forming.
