This Michael Dirr introduction has beautiful, large, black-purple fragrant flowers with lustrous, glossy, dark blue-green foliage. Vigorous grower, attractive to butterflies and is a good cut flower. Succulent cane shrub flowers on new growth and is best pruned to the ground in the spring. Full sun. Will die back in Zone 5, but will regrow strongly from the roots.
