Aster 'Bluebird'
A wonderful late summer/fall blooming perennial with big cone shaped clusters of single violet-blue flowers with yellow centers; each flower is about 1" across. A very showy plant, great for attracting butterflies. It gets tall, about 4', so place it towards the back of the perennial border, doesn't need staking. Introduced by the Mt Cuba Center for the Study of Piedmont Flora. Extremely disease resistant, likes full sun and average garden soils.
