This lovely lilac was selected for its large, up to 15", dark reddish-purple blossoms. The fragrant flowers bloom in early spring. Excellent specimen or background plant, may also be use as an informal hedge or screen. A nice cut flower for a fragrant bouquet. Part of the "U.S. Flag" series of lilacs from the National Arboretum.
