Prunus (Western Sand Cherry) (Common Cherrylaurel)
White, single flowers in May produce great quantities of 3/4" purple-black sweet fruits from July to mid August, used for preserves. Prefers well-drained sites but will tolerate hot, dry soil. Xeriscape plant. Very hardy.
