A prolific bloomer, covered with clusters of fragrant pink 1/2" flowers in May. Red berries 1/3" wide. Striking variegated foliage forms a dense mounded shape. Requires a cool, dry or well-drained site and preferably alkaline soil. Excessive moisture must be avoided. Daphnes are susceptible to high root temperatures. While in containers we have found it absolutely necessary to keep these plants in shade during the heat of the growing season. Sun or partial shade.
