2013 Field Trial Results: University of Tennesse (Knoxville)

The University of Tennessee tests 300 annual and perennial herbaceous varieties. Trials Manager Beth Willis reports unusual and trying weather conditions due to abnormally high amounts of rainfall. By mid-July the area had received its full typical annual rainfall. By the end of the growing season, rainfall was 6 inches higher than average. Temperatures were also slightly cooler than normal, with only a few days reaching more than 90°F. The average maximum temperature was 1.4 degrees lower than the historical average.
