Vegetable Breeders Hosting Summer Trials in California in August

Tomato ‘Chef’s Choice Red’ (Seeds by Design) summer vegetable trialsA wide range of vegetable breeding companies dealing in the fresh market and home garden segments will be hosting the 2019 Summer Vegetable Trials via open houses and field days. The event is hosted by six participating breeders from Aug. 12-16, 2019.

The Summer Vegetable Trials are modeled after California Spring Trials and are designed to give attendees the opportunity to visit breeder company trial sites throughout the state. Customers, growers, and seed companies can contact each company to arrange their visit (not all stops are open all days). Visits will focus on observing new varieties in a field or garden setting and learning about new breeding and marketing opportunities from respective hosts.
