The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers (ASCFG) will host its national conference and trade show November 8-10 in Tulsa, Okla.
The conference opens with Growers School, an intensive one-day program covering the basics of cut flower production. This hands-on event will take place in Stillwater at Bear Creek Farms. Soil management, infrastructure setup, seed germination, pest control and post-harvest handling are just a few topics to be discussed.
At the same time, workshops on QuickBooks and online marketing, wedding flowers, and co-operative sales will take place at the host hotel, the Tulsa Crowne Plaza.
Tuesday, November 9 includes sessions featuring John Dole of North Carolina State University, Lynn Byczynski, editor of Growing for Market, and several growers from across the country addressing cut flower production and management topics.
The tradeshow and a tour of Bear Creek Farms take place on Wednesday, November 10.
