Begonias, Dahlias, and More for 2018 from California Spring Trials

As always, there are lots of new annual varieties that breeders plan to show off at California Spring Trials (CAST) 2017, each one bred with strong garden performance and consumer success in mind.

We asked breeders to give us a sneak peek of some of the new annual varieties they are introducing this year for the 2018 retail season. The response was so great that we couldn’t fit all of the new annuals in one slideshow, so we’ll provide them in two installments. This annuals slideshow from CAST 2017 includes begonias, dahlias, bidens, cosmos, and lots more. The second annuals slideshow will feature everything from pentas and snapdragons to verbenas and zinnias. And that’s not all, more CAST 2017 slideshows will be forthcoming featuring perennials, shrubs, blooming potted plants, and berries and vegetables.

And in case you missed it, check out the slideshow of new petunias and calibrachoas from CAST 2017.
