Petunia Making Debut At Home Depot

Petunia Making Debut At Home Depot

‘Rhythm & Blues,’ a new Viva petunia found at Home Depot, will help gardeners jazz up their gardens this spring.

The petunia is from Ball Horticultural Co., grows vigorously and will fill out garden beds, decorative containers or hanging baskets in no time. Hanging baskets and containers are a great way to show off the attributes of this exceptional garden plant.

“There are a lot of petunias in the marketplace today,” says Ray French, product manager for Floragem, a horticultural marketing company that works with Home Depot on the Viva collection. “‘Rhythm and Blues’ stands out with its showy contrast of deep purple/blue and white flowers. The scalloped edges of the two-tone blooms, combined with the vigorous mounding growth habit, make this plant a show stopper both at retail and in the garden.”

The Viva program introduces a variety of new flower varieties into the U.S. and Canadian markets and contains a mixture of annuals, perennials and woody ornamentals for use in home landscapes by home gardeners or landscapers. You can learn more about ‘Rhythm & Blues’ at VivaGarden.com.

I purchased the Rhythm & Blues petunias at Menard's in Minot, ND, and planted them in my whiskey barrel–they are beautiful!! The flowers look like they are made of purple velvet. We are moving soon to a city that has a Home Depot, so I'm glad I will be able to find them there next year, also.
