Late last year, Pantone announced Viva Magenta as its 2023 Color of the Year. As Pantone Color Institute Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman describes it, “Viva Magenta vibrates with vim and vigor. It is a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength. Viva Magenta is brave and fearless, and a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration, writing a new narrative.”
As usual, the horticulture industry has responded by highlighting plants that bring the color of the year to the garden, home, or landscape. In the second of a three-part series, check out the slideshow above for a closer look at 20 breeder and grower favorites. You can find the first batch of varieties here, and be sure to watch for more next week!
