Sion, a Dutch phalaenopsis orchid breeder, has teamed up with CosMic Plants in Beamsville, Ontario, to produce and supply rooted young plants to the North American market.
The plants will be six months old and grown in a community tray in a bark mixture. Sion Orchids is Supplying CosMic Plants with a preselected assortment of its best phalaenopsis varieties, partly from its own breeding program and partly from other breeders worldwide.
CosMic Plants grows them in their state-of-the-art greenhouse facility from flask to a six-month old plant. The first young plants will be available to pforessional phalaenopsis growers in January and all year round afterwards.
