Meet Greenhouse Grower’s New Editor

Hi. I’m Robin Siktberg and I’m the new editor of Greenhouse Grower. I haven’t had a chance to meet many of you yet, so I’d like to let you know a little about who I am.

“I want to write and I want to do something with plants,” was always my standard answer from a very early age to the question, “What do you want to do when you grow up?”

Now I have grown up, and throughout my career, I have always managed to both write and work with plants. I feel very fortunate to be doing what I love. Most people I know in this industry are in it because they love plants and they believe what they do makes the world a better (and certainly more beautiful) place. But those same people also want to be successful in the careers they have chosen.

I have been a reader of Greenhouse Grower for years and know it has long been considered the “varieties” magazine. And that’s one of the reasons I am so excited to be a part of it. I am truly a plant geek and will speak Latin and discuss the merits of new varieties with anyone who will listen.

But your job is more than just finding cool new plants to grow every spring. Whether it’s information about new production techniques, controlling insects and diseases, finding the right new piece of equipment for your planting line or marketing your crop and managing your business, I will be here to help you. There’s always more for all of us to learn and I look forward to meeting many of you as I dive, or should I say dig, into this new job.

Our team at Greenhouse Grower will, as always, provide you with the information you need to succeed and grow in the weeks, months and years to come. In the meantime, I want to hear from you. Drop me a line and let me know what’s on your mind.
