Al's Garden Center's merchandisers layered frames and pallets to great effect
Yellow pallet wood, burlap and a yellow crate set off a Hort Couture collection endcap at Al's Garden Center
Burlap-colored paint works well with yellow
Switching the crate from horizontal to vertical adds more flexibility
The props all but disappear in this shade annuals endcap
The props work even with fewer plants
This endcap turns the crate into a shadow box display
Yellow and blue complement just about any plant
Although this red goes offscript, the repeat use of materials makes it work
Al’s Garden Center’s Woodburn, OR, location wowed Garden Centers of America visitors. Several elements added to the strong impact the store makes. In the plant yard, one feature that made the entire department feel cohesive and easy to navigate was its endcaps.
The merchandisers used three elements again and again in the endcaps, just a little differently in each display: painted pallets, crates, and burlap.
Take a look at how it comes together, and you’ll see how easy this will be to duplicate in any garden store.
