South Korea Horticultural Expos Launch New Alliance to Expand Global Reach

On May 8, 2025, organizers of South Korea’s major horticultural expos took a significant step toward international competitiveness by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a collaborative national cluster. This new alliance, driven by industry leaders, focuses on sustainable growth, international exchange, and enhanced cooperation among the country’s leading flower and horticultural events.

The Four Horticultural Expos Involved

The cluster brings together four prominent Horticultural Expos:

  1. The 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo.
  2. The 2026 Taean International Horticultural Healing Expo.
  3. The International Horticulture Goyang Korea 2025 (IHK 2025).
  4. The 16th Daegu Flower Expo.

Notably, Ulsan, Taean, and Goyang have all received official approval from the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), reflecting their alignment with global standards.

Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony

The signing ceremony took place at the Goyang Flower Exhibition Hall. It was attended by representatives from each expo along with AIPH officials, demonstrating South Korea’s commitment to advancing excellence in horticultural exhibitions on the world stage.

The initiative aims to support the sustainable growth of South Korea’s flower and horticulture industry through shared expertise, resources, and networking among member expos. The MOU outlines goals to internationalize content, promote cultural exchange across regions, and strengthen joint promotional efforts. Through this strategic alliance, each expo will benefit from shared marketing initiatives, infrastructure, and collaborative project development.
