You can follow Riverview’s blog at www.FloridaFriendlyPlants.com/blog. Florida Friendly Plants is Riverview’s brand, and Riverview plans to use the blog as yet another place to feature those plants. The main emphasis of the blog, though, is to promote the benefits of using environmentally friendly approaches in Florida gardening.
At Riverview, a soil mix is formulated with compost and inoculated with beneficial micro-organisms that protect roots from disease and increases fertilizer efficiency. Techniques such as biological pest prevention and drip irrigation even earned Riverview the commissioner of agriculture’s recognition with the Environmental Leadership Award in 2006.
