Selecta One Awarded the 2025 German Horticulture Innovation Prize
Selecta One has been awarded the German Horticulture Innovation Prize 2025 by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMLEH). The jury honored the company in the “Plant” category for the development of RCS 2.0, a system for the sustainable and efficient production of rooted cuttings.
“With RCS 2.0, we offer our customers a product that combines environmentally friendly, resource-saving, and efficient solutions. The award confirms our commitment to actively shaping horticulture with future-oriented concepts,” says Per Klemm, CEO of Selecta One, at the award ceremony in Berlin on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025.
With the German Horticulture Innovation Award (Deutscher Innovationspreis Gartenbau), the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture annually honors companies whose innovations strengthen the competitiveness of German horticulture while promoting environmental and climate protection and social responsibility. In the jury’s view, the new propagation system has the potential to significantly increase efficiency in the value chain and contribute to an improved carbon footprint.
RCS 2.0 offers a unique combination of substrate-free rooting in biodegradable paper bags and compact size, and is aimed at producers worldwide who are looking for sustainable and efficient solutions. The carbon footprint of cutting production is significantly reduced through reduced material consumption, optimized logistics, and an energy-efficient production process.
