Adaptive Lighting Control

Variable lighting conditions in greenhouses make it challenging to achieve consistent crop production year-round. Cloudy days and overcast weeks can cause production delays, resulting in delayed shipment and lower profits.

Candidus brings to market a new adaptive lighting control system to provide commercial greenhouses consistent lighting conditions and predictable crop production. The controller monitors sun light in real time and determines how much supplemental light is needed at any particular time. This information is used to control dimmable lights and turn non-dimmable lights on and off to assure that the crop receives the correct Daily Light Integral. Growers do not have to worry about adjusting lighting settings. The adaptive lighting control system assures that the crop receives the right amount of light and that supplemental light is provided when the plants can use that light most efficiently.

Its low implementation costs make the Candidus adaptive lighting control system accessible to any size operation, from small high tunnels to large greenhouses. Compatible with any commercial lighting system (LEDs and HPS) the system can be used in any facility using supplemental lights. Through a simple user-interface, growers can setup zoning, photoperiod, DLI, and night interruption. Working individually with every customer Candidus provides its clients monthly energy efficiency reports to optimize lighting management strategies and increase production profitability.
