Senetti Offers Cool Colors for the Cool Season

THRIVING in cool temperatures, Senetti is the perfect plant to launch your spring season. Vivid blues, magentas and purples provide electric color. Senetti season begins in January in the South, as a winter crop, and in late March further North. Plants can withstand temperatures down to 35°F.

The main Senetti series spans 15 colors. There are four compact Baby Senetti colors and one novel Sparkle type with fringed petals, Senetti Sparkle Lavender.

New For 2022

Be among the first to offer two new colors – Rose Glow and Magic Merlot! Both have the color changing magic as blooms open and age.

Rose Glow starts out with blue violet tips and the hot magenta rose center expands. It’s also our first Senetti with a bright, creamy white center disk for a bright, eyepopping contrast. Rose Glow times with the Magenta and has foliage similar to Magic Salmon.

SENETTI® Rose Glow – Suntory Flowers

Magic Merlot features wine red blooms with an expanding red/orange center and dark eye. Vigor is the same as Blue Bicolor but it times two weeks later. Blooms offer less fade than Ruby Red.

Dynamic Duos

Take your early season color to the next level with Suntory Mixers featuring vibrant Senetti pericallis. Suntory Mixers are a line of combo cuttings kits. These have been available for key annuals, such as Surfinia petunias, Million Bells calibrachoas, Surdiva scaevolas and Beedance bidens. But this is our first season offering Suntory Mixers for Senetti. It just so happens the top sellers mix nicely together in combinations.

Bicolor Blitz mixes Senetti Blue Bicolor and Magenta Bicolor. Plant two liners of each in a large patio pot. If you’re already growing Senetti, this is a natural next step and an opportunity to command a premium. These two bicolors are by far the top sellers in the Senetti line.

Senetti’s solid colors can be just as intense. Neon Nites mixes Magenta and Deep Blue. Plant two liners of each in a large patio pot. Set these on endcaps and you’ll stop shoppers in their tracks!

One advantage to purchasing the combo kits is bundled royalty pricing. With Suntory Mixers, the price is 3 royalties instead of 4, a 25% savings on the royalty portion of the price. Two farms offering Suntory Mixers featuring Senetti in 2020 are Kientzler North America in Costa Rica and Vivero Internacional in Mexico.

If there ever was a crop we’d recommend an early booking, it’s Senetti. Top sellers sell out quickly for peak weeks. For this reason, major producers pounce. We continue to expand supply and sources. Unrooted sources for Senetti include Kientzler, Vivero, Cohen, Selecta, Quality Cuttings and Beekenkamp.
