Preparing Crops for Garden Success with Segovis

Certain ornamental crops can be prone to challenges caused by downy mildew and Phytophthora spp. diseases once they are planted in the landscape. The incidence of these diseases is driven primarily by local environmental conditions and weather events, both of which cannot be predicted.  Segovis® fungicide can provide protection against these oomycete diseases long after the plants leave the greenhouse, helping to ensure successful garden performance.

Protecting Plants from Downy Mildew & Phytophthora spp. Diseases with Segovis:

  • Use Segovis as part of a fungicide rotation and resistance management program.
  • Apply Segovis as a drench a few weeks prior to shipping crops, such as impatiens, coleus, vinca roses and others, to protect them from downy mildew and Phytophthora in the landscape.
  • This final application can protect impatiens from downy mildew all the way to the landscape.1
  • A Segovis application can even aid in protecting crops that are planted in areas where downy mildew has been active in the past.

1Led by Mary Hausbeck, Ph.D., Michigan State University studies show if impatiens are treated with their recommended fungicides, the risk of an outbreak in the landscape is significantly reduced or prevented.
