Atlas Greenhouse’s Acquisition of Stuppy Greenhouse Brings Together Two Leading Manufacturers
Two major greenhouse structures companies are coming together. Atlas Greenhouse announced on Monday, Feb. 23, that it has acquired Stuppy Greenhouse, bringing together two of the biggest names in commercial greenhouse manufacturing. Together, the companies represent nearly 200 years of combined industry knowledge and experience, creating one of the strongest greenhouse manufacturers in the industry —producing U.S.-made greenhouse solutions.
This strategic combination “unites two highly complementary brands into one robust offering that expands options and delivers more comprehensive solutions for customers across all major end markets and geographies” according to a statement from the two companies. Customers will continue to have full access to both the Atlas and Stuppy product lines, supported by the same trusted teams, engineering expertise, and service standards they have come to expect.
“Our focus is simple – strengthen what customers already value while expanding what we can deliver,” says John Edwards, CEO of the company. “By combining Atlas and Stuppy, we bring together decades of engineering excellence, manufacturing capability, and customer commitment. This is a win for our customers and a win for the industry.”
Matt Stuppy, the fifth-generation owner of Stuppy Greenhouse, adds that “Customer confidence has been the focal point of the Stuppy family for 153 years. That confidence can only be achieved through collaborating with customers, employees, and industry partners to provide solutions that provide real value. Given the cultural fit and aligned values of both organizations, I believe we will be able to quickly continue to innovate complete solutions and provide meaningful resources to greenhouse users of all sizes across all end markets.”
Both Atlas and Stuppy have long been recognized for manufacturing high-quality greenhouse structures in the U.S. Together, they reinforce a shared commitment to American-made products, integrity, innovation, and long-term value. The combination of these two strong brands further solidifies their leadership in U.S.-manufactured greenhouse solutions.
The combined company will continue to support a diverse and growing customer base, from agriculture and ornamental commercial growers to retail garden centers, educational institutions, and research facilities. Across each segment, customers will benefit from a broader and more integrated product offering, enhanced engineering and technical expertise, and a continued commitment to helping them improve efficiency, increase productivity, and achieve their financial and operational goals.
Edwards also shared the following details with Greenhouse Grower:
“This is a strong, strategic move for both companies and for the industry. Two respected U.S. greenhouse manufacturers are joining forces in a way that strengthens our ability to serve growers long term.
“Operationally, nothing changes. The Stuppy brand remains in place, and customers will continue working with the same sales, service, and support teams they know today. There is no disruption to current projects, open orders, warranties, or ongoing manufacturing. Our immediate focus is continuity and maintaining the level of service customers expect.
“Where customers will see benefit is in expanded capability. The combined organization brings broader product coverage across greenhouse styles, deeper engineering resources, and strengthened U.S.-based manufacturing capacity. The product lines are highly complementary, filling gaps for one another and allowing us to better support commercial growers, nurseries, education and research institutions, specialty growers, and retail garden centers.
“Together, Atlas and Stuppy represent nearly 200 years of industry experience. That depth of knowledge enhances future product development by giving us a stronger engineering bench and a more complete greenhouse offering.
“In short, this move strengthens both brands, expands what we can offer customers, and reinforces our long-term commitment to domestic manufacturing and industry leadership.”
