According to NatureSweet, the deal is a 100% joint venture between both companies with equal investments. The tomatoes will be produced in established NatureSweet facilities. Materials will be co-branded, and all products will be distributed under the Lipman name and described as “greenhouse grown in Mexico by NatureSweet.”

In summing up the unique initiative, Lipman’s CEO Kent Shoemaker stated: “Our goal is to bring the high-flavor, high-color, high-density characteristics of our field-grown ‘Crimson’ variety to the greenhouse product we create with NatureSweet.”

There will be 66 acres of NatureSweet greenhouses dedicated for the official October 2018 production launch.
