Blair Busenbark Hired To Lead Adaptive Plastics

Blair Busenbark1Adaptive Plastics, Inc. recently welcomed Blair Busenbark in a newly created position as chief operations officer. In his new role, Busenbark will lead company-wide efforts to develop and implement strategies to grow future B2B and consumer sales of the company.

“The addition of Blair to our team will be a tremendous asset to our company’s growth as we look forward to growing the company,” says Michelle Moore, owner of Adaptive Plastics. “Blair’s understanding of the needs of greenhouse and nursery growers will be key to his helping lead the effort to educate growers on the energy savings available when their greenhouse is covered with Solexx.”

Busenbark will be responsible for providing the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure the company has the proper controls, procedures and systems in place to effectively grow the company and ensure long-term financial strength and operating efficiency. He will also be visiting customers to help them understand Solexx and how it can help them save money when they choose it as their greenhouse covering.

Prior to joining Adaptive Plastics, Busenbark spent 15 years at Sun Gro Horticulture, where his efforts were focused primarily on sales and marketing management and strategic planning. Recently, he led the company-wide effort to transition Black Gold potting soils from a regional product to a national brand. Previously, Busenbark worked in sales and marketing at Ball Horticultural Co. (PanAmerican Seed) and Gurney Seed and Nursery. Busenbark has an MBA and a M.S. in Horticulture from the University of Maryland, Collage Park and a B.S. in Plant Science from Utah State.

Raker-Roberta’s Young Plants Debuts as Roberta’s Finali…

On December 1, Eric Wallien of Roberta’s Inc. in Waldron, IN, officially purchased C. Raker & Sons in Litchfield, MI. The new identity of the company is now Raker-Roberta’s Young Plants, according to a Dec. 1 letter to Raker’s customers, suppliers, and business partners from Vice President Susie Raker-Zimmerman. “There have been minimal changes in management and we will be providing the same products and services on which we have built our reputation in the industry,” Raker-Zimmerman said in the letter, which also announced the name change and new logo. The sale of C. Raker & Sons was announced in September . A series of events affecting Raker’s financial situation caused the need for the operation to find an alternate solution. Roberta’s had been a customer of Raker’s since 2011, and the fourth generation, family owned grower-retailer was a fan of Raker’s commitment to quality. The agreement to purchase C. […]
