    Dear Sir or Madame,
Three years ago, the company ULIKS from Novi Sad invested in building the green house at the very attractive location situated in the willage called Cortanovci that are 20 kilometers away from Novi Sad and 50 kilometers from Belgrade.
The lot of land (plot) where the green house is built is 2 ha (hectares) large. All necessary infrastructure is provided there: the road, electricity, water, natural gas… The built green house is 2 500 m2 large possessing the under station for the natural gas heating with 2 Mw power. Beside that, the green house has the thermal curtain, meteorology station and the computer system. The watering system is operating by the system called “drop by drop”.
The vegetables have been produced there for three years so the full placement of goods on the domestic market has been already provided. We are under the contract with a large Slovenian trading chain market “Merkator” to whom we are supplying 60% of our production and the rest goes to the smaller local markets.
In the Serbian market there is no developed production of vegetables and flowers in the green houses thus providing a big opportunity to the companies who are involved in this kind of production.
It is our intention also to engage our production capacities to produce flowers. In the first realization phase we are looking for a partner who would be able to invest means to adopt the capacities for the flower production and define the technology. The placement of goods could be in Serbia but also on the European market. If this business proves itself profitable the extension of the capacities could be also planned on the same location.
As the company have decided to enter into the partnership with a company interested in investing and bringing the technology which could provide the bigger profit, we are at your disposal for any further quires or information that you might need.

    Yours Faitfully

The Top 100 Growers Speak Out on Changes Needed in Immi…

Opinions about the new administration’s approach to immigration reform vary widely among Greenhouse Grower‘s Top 100 Growers. Many say they are “very concerned” about the potential impact on agriculture’s guestworker programs. Others say the entire guestworker program needs to be overhauled to be simpler and easier to use for growers, and hope that this will be part of the reform efforts. And some seem to be generally in favor of the current methods. “I am in favor of securing the borders but want a simple system for legal residency.” — Dale Buist, Countryside Greenhouse and Farm Market “All this talk has made huge waves in the migrant labor workforce. Continuing this path will create an even greater shortage of employees willing to do our type of work.” — Mark Worley, Speedling, Inc. “[Trump] is only enforcing and not reforming. We will lose a lot of our best employees if this […]

Greenhouse Grower’s Top 100 Growers Talk Technolo…

The Top 100 Growers are already by nature some of the most technologically advanced greenhouse operations, due to their sheer size and need for efficiency. Many of the largest growers also serve big box merchandisers and home improvement chains, where prices are dictated, so producing plants at the lowest possible cost is essential to growers not only staying in business, but also profiting and expanding their operations. This year’s survey focused on the automation and technology the Top 100 Growers are investing in, and how these advancements have improved their operations, as well as how they have affected growers’ labor issues. We also asked growers about how they’re solving labor issues, where they’re recruiting new hires, and how they’re keeping their people committed. Lean management programs and sustainability certifications have become higher priorities in the past several years, due to growers’ needs to run efficiently and focus attention on sustainable […]
