Gotham Greens continues to expand its grocery, natural channel, and e-commerce footprint and retail sales. Since January 2021, Gotham Greens has expanded into more than 800 additional retail stores, bringing its total store count to approximately 2,800 doors nationwide with 62% year over year growth (compared to 52% and 15% year over year growth for the indoor farming sector and organic sector, respectively; *Source: Nielsen, Total US xAOC, Pre-Packaged Salads, Lettuce, & Basil, Latest 52 weeks ending 8/14/21). This expansion is driven by new and increased distribution in national retailers, including Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, The Fresh Market, Albertsons Companies, King Soopers (part of the Kroger Co.), AmazonFresh, and FreshDirect.

Gotham Greens has also increased its brand presence across the foodservice industry through partnerships with Sweetgreen, Purple Carrot, and Just Salad, featuring Gotham Greens’ leafy greens and herbs, dressings, and pesto sauces. Each partnership is grounded in a shared mission to put plant-based foods at the center of the table and reinforces the increasing importance of choosing sustainable produce among consumers today.

In addition to its retail and foodservice business expansion, Gotham Greens continues to expand its national greenhouse network to meet increased demand. The company’s ninth hydroponic greenhouse, the first phase of a 10-acre project located near the University of California-Davis, is set to open next month. Gotham Greens produce will be widely available throughout California, including national and regional retailers such as Whole Foods Market and Raley’s.

Alongside this growth and charged with continuing to drive momentum, Gotham Greens recently hired produce and CPG industry sales veterans Brian Orr and Jeff McKinnon who bring strong track records of growth and success. Orr brings 25 years of experience in sales, including 15 years at Bonduelle Fresh Americas and Ready Pac Foods, where he most recently served as Vice President of Business Development. McKinnon brings more than 20 years of experience climbing the sales ranks at Procter & Gamble, Clorox, Diageo and most recently Organic Girl.
