Getting Ready for Plantpeddler’s 45th Anniversary and Variety Day Events

Plantpeddler, located in Cresco, IA, is hosting a series of industry events over the upcoming two days. All Horticulture industry professionals are welcome to join.
On Thursday, July 31, 2025, Plantpeddler will kick off the two days of events with “Educate the Educators Workshop”, which is focused on supporting and training agriculture instructors on developing horticulture and greenhouse programs at the high school level. The workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with more than 25 industry volunteers to help with the training day. Continuing education credits are available to all teachers from Iowa and adjoining states through Iowa State University.
Thursday evening, the Gooder family and the Plantpeddler team are hosting “Feast at the Farm” and celebrating the 45th anniversary of Plantpeddler. Music, BBQ, and fellowship are key ingredients of the evening. This will be held at Stone Creek Farms, the legacy family farm, with the festivities starting at 6 p.m.. Shuttle bus services will be available to and from area motels.
Friday, August 1, 2025, the annual Plantpeddler Variety Day event will take place at the Plantpeddler Young Plant facility and Trial Gardens. More than 1,500 varieties are on display in containers, baskets, and beds. Breeder representatives will be in the gardens and available throughout the day. Presentations run concurrently on the main stage, with this year’s focus on greenhouse structures and equipment. A trade show of event sponsors, along with greenhouse tours, round out the day, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, a continental breakfast and lunch will be served for free.
