Emerald Coast Growers Introduces 32 New Varieties for the Upcoming Season
Emerald Coast Growers has announced the addition of 32 perennial varieties to its lineup for the 2025-2026 growing season.
While Emerald Coast Growers is best known for its extensive collection of ornamental grasses, this year’s intro spotlight is exclusively on perennials, adding to the company’s already impressive collection of perennial plants.
“We constantly listen to our customers’ needs and try to meet them as quickly as we can,” says Cheri Markowitz, Vice President of Sales for Emerald Coast. “We see an increased demand for unique perennials, which drove our selection process this year. We strive to be a one-stop shop for our customers’ ornamental grass and perennial needs.”
New Variety Highlights from Emerald Coast Growers
Some of the highlights among the intros include:
Monarda didyma ‘Sugar Buzz Pink Frosting’
Monarda didyma ‘Sugar Buzz Pink Frosting’ joins the two existing Sugar Buzz varieties ‘Cherry Pops’ and ‘Grape Gumball’. This pollinator-friendly plant features frosted white tips on intense medium pink flowers. It’s mildew-resistant, grows to a mature height of 16”, and is hardy in USDA Zones 4-9.
Agastache ‘Beelicious’
Agastache ‘Beelicious’ features a dense habit with large pink flowers that rebloom all summer to fall. As the name suggests, this bee-friendly perennial is a great addition to any pollinator-friendly garden. It grows to 30” tall and is hardy in USDA Zones 6-10.
Nepeta ‘Chartreuse on the Loose’
Nepeta ‘Chartreuse on the Loose’ combines two consumer favorite colors in one plant with its vibrant chartreuse foliage and purple flowers. This colorful catmint prefers full sun to part shade and is hardy in USDA Zones 3-9.
Veronica ‘Vernique Raspberry’
Veronica ‘Vernique Raspberry’ is unique in that it’s first-year flowering without needing vernalization, and day-length neutral. From Green Fuse Botanicals, it sports bright, raspberry-pink flower spikes on uniform, compact plants. It grows to 18” and is hardy in USDA Zones 4-8.
Phlox subulata Spring series
The Phlox subulata Spring series brings new, clean genetics to this perennial with improved disease resistance, resulting in greater grower success. Bred for garden performance and flower power, this series brings four colors:
- Blue
- Lavender
- Pink
- Purple
All four varieties are patented, very low growing with 6” mature height, and hardy in USDA Zones 2-9.
Colocasia ‘Royal Hawaiian Waikiki’
Colocasia ‘Royal Hawaiian Waikiki’ rounds out the highlights. Deep green, glossy foliage with white markings and pink veins form tidy clumps that are great for landscapes or large containers. It is disease resistant, 36” at mature height, and with a hardiness of USDA Zones 7b-10 that’s more on the temperate perennial side.
